101st Airborne Division, Republic of Viet Nam, LZ Sally & Phu Bai

This site is dedicated to the men who served in Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry, 2nd Brigade and the 101st Airborne Division in the Republic of Viet Nam in 1969 and 1970.

In 2005, the first Viet Nam Veterans reunion was held in Branson MO. The reunion was sponsored by H. Ross Perot and there were approximately 150,000 vets from all services in attendance. I attended the reunion and was lucky enough to meet Jon Quick who was a member of Alpha Company in 1968. Jon gave me a couple of Web Sites to research for company members. Between then and now, I have been on a very happy journey. The first year I found 8 of us. As of today there are about 60 and climbing.

I can think of no greater endeavor than locating the men who served so bravely and gave so much. To say that this has been a labor of love would be an understatement. With the exception of those who have experienced what we did, others will never understand the bond we share.

I presented the idea of a web page to John some time back. John jumped on it and obtained a GO Daddy account. We did not anticipate the time and effort associated with building a web page. I just happen to play racquet ball with a really nice kid who does this stuff for a living. His Name is Dan Wahlbrink. He and I created the design for the site. John Martin had already done most of the work on the other pages. Dan did his thing to bring it all together. John and I hope you enjoy the site and visit often.
