Only the Rat would admit that he got a new Garmin for Christmas but he is still lost. Even Lynn thought something was wrong with his new toy when the voice on there kept saying "proceed straight ahead to starting point". If anybody other than me and Tex know anything about Loop 635 (LBJ Freeway) in Dallas then you would know that it "circles" around Dallas. The Rat is now wearing it out.
Bets are now being waged all around the Dallas metroplex on just when and where the Garmin will get tired and tell the Rat to "just exit here dammit!"

Well a new year is upon us and we are all a year older. I read some stats the other day, you know, like the ones that tell you how many WWll veterans are dying every day. Well, they are now doing it for us. Believe it or not, we are in the remaining but shrinking group of Vietnam Vets still waking up every day. In that light, I wish all of you a Happy New year. The way I figure it, you guys are all to mean too "Buy It". You will be around a lot of years, just too make things hard on all the civilians milling around our country. Stay healthy, stay mean.
Those of you who attended the reunion last year, voted on dues. Some of you probably don't remember. Frank Alls recommded $25.00 minimum per year. Others wanted it to be more. We voted and settled on the $25.00 min. per year and that those who wanted to could send as much as they thought they could handle. As everyone knows, the money is used to finance our reunions, pay for flowers when needed and of course my yearly vacation. In any case, next month is dues month. All of you who are capable of remembering the reunion need to cough up some duckets. Please make all checks payable to me, and send them to my daughters address. For those of you who do not have it, let me know and I will email it to you.
I have good news for Tex, Harry and Lil Cowboy, I got a Garmin for Christmas.
I am still looking for land, it some times seems that the quest will never end, but one must have faith. We have a couple of good candidates, one by a lake and the other in an area where there are just a lot of summer places. We have also found a house that has promise.
Have to go, have things to do.
