SPOKE WITH TEX THIS EVENING. HE WENT BACK IN THE HOSPITAL THIS MORNING AND HAD HIS LEFT LEG WORKED ON FOR CLOTS. HE HAS BEEN REALLY WORRIED, BECAUSE A LOT OF GUYS GO IN FOR BY-PASS AND COME OUT MINUS A LEG. IN ANY CASE, HE ENDED UP GETTING STINTS. HE WAS ON THE TABLE ALL DAY. I GUESS ABOUT 1500HRS, HE ASKED THEM HOW MUCH LONGER, AND THEY SAID "NOT TO MUCH LONGER, WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF STINTS." HE HAD 7, COUNT EM, 7 STINTS PUT IN HIS LEFT SIDE AND LEG.
THE OLE POTENTIAL CSM WAS IN GOOD SPIRITS AND SOUNDED AS GOOD AS HE HAS IN A WHILE. HE GOES BACK ON THE 9TH OF SEPT. FOR THE OTHER LEG.
HE TOLD ME HE HAD BETTER FEELING IN HIS LEG ALREADY.
IN HIS LAST BLOG, HE MADE REFERENCE TO MY ABILITY TO UTILIZE MY PHONE. LET ME JUST SAY THAT HE HAS BECOME SO DEPENDANT ON TINA, HE CAN'T EVEN ANSWER THE PHONE.
NOW, TEX SHOULD BE AT THE REUNION BARING ANY UNFORSEEN EVENTS. HARRY STILL DOES NOT KNOW IF HE WILL BE THERE, WHIMP.

Just for general knowledge- Big Bird, Steve Cruthis, and some old buddies of his went on a road trip. Remember the movie "Wild Hogs"? I think Steve's group is calling themselves "Hogs Gone Wild". He sends an update to me every few days. Last one said they were headed to Colorado. They are stopping at every swimming hole Steve sees to go skinny dipping - Steve says he hasn't found a "friendly" trooper to join in yet. That Big Bird had better leave the booze alone!!!!

Deidre's boss is playing the biaaaatch card, taking off all the time and leaving her on call on the weekends to cover anyone who don't show up for their shift on the weekend.This damn carwreck has screwed up any plans I've had the past six months, physically, mentally,legally ,and trying to take care of business. Just trying to stay sane.

Looks like after 40 years Donut would forgive me. I don't remember what I did but the way he feels about pound cakes, peaches and donuts I ought to know he would hold a grug.

He's home (resting & has to go back to doc on Aug 1st for ck up. Said nurse Tina is taking good care of him. He's not sure if he should continue taking all those blue pills the nurse is giving him.

I spoke with Tex at the Houston VA Hosp by phone the day he got out of ICU & he said he'd keep us informed of his condition. He was worried about needing surgery for the clots in his legs. Haven't heard a word from him since.

A son-in-law of a teacher I work with has been severly wounded in Afghanistan. He is with the 101st. His Humvee hit a landmine. Two were killed and Sgt. Feagin and another were wounded. They have already amputated his lower left leg and is going through another round of surgery to remove shrapnel.

RECEIVED A TEXT MESSAGE AND PHOTO FROM TEX TODAY. HE LOOKS LIKE HE SURVIVED EVERY THING OK, HOWEVER, I DO BELIEVE HE IS UGLIER THAN BEFORE THE OPERATION. I SPOKE WITH HIM ON THE PHONE LATER IN THE DAY AND ATTEMPTED TO MAKE HIM LAUGH BECAUSE I KNOW HOW IT FEELS AFTER SURGERY OF ANY KIND. SO EVERY ONE SEND HIM JOKES AND SUCH. HE GOT HIS FLOWERS AND OF COURSE HE CRIED. HE IS SENSITIVE THAT WAY.
NOW IN CASE YOU WERE NOT AWARE, TEX AND HARRY MAY AS WELL BE MARRIED. THEY FUSS AT EACH OTHER LIKE SO. SO I GAVE HARRY TEX'S NUMBER AT THE VA SO HE COULD BITCH AT HIM.
SO, EVERYTHING IS OK AT THE RANCH WHERE TEX IS CONCERNED. WE ALL WISH TEX WELL. WELL AT LEAST SOME DO.

Finally contacted Ron today, he is alive and doing well somewhere in south Texas. He was going to come to the reunion until I told him Tex Caufield was going, then he said no way jose, if Caufield was going he was staying home. As best I can determine it has something to do with a pound cake and some peaches. Go figure, it has only been about 40 years. Hey, some guys really love their pound cake and peaches.

If I get time tomorrow I will post a list of reunion attendees.

I know there are a lot of people enjoying America's Birthday, and so am I, but in a different way. I like all my brothers love this country with all our hearts. There have been a lot of celebrations going on. Last night on the 3rd of July, WEST Michigan had a welcome home party for the VIET NAM VETS. It was quite a night. They had a lot of speakers, music, singing, and the ARMY Band, & the ARMY Band was really awesome.

They also had 2.654 American Flags in the field, representing all the Michigan Vets who lost there lives in Viet Nam. It was very sobering. They ended the program with TAPS, and there wasn"t a dry eye there. I met a lot of very neat vets there, & I also told them all about a very special group of Brothers called the RAT PACK. It was a awesome but somber night looking at all those flags. They gave all the vets who wanted one a flag. They didn`t have enough.

Sorry Guys,I thought Main Stay Suites was the perfect fit for the reunion, since they had a RV park right across the street. I did not know that weekdays would be a factor since the weekend is not really being off from work. And I did not know if I was going to have a subpoena for legal problems with Deidre's job. The Dr. would not release her and the Hotel would not have her return until released, yet if not returning, was going to post her job if she didn't return.WHAT!!!! ......Don't return yet, but if u don't return, we will post your job. So I had Dr. bills on my credit cards and when I presented them to the insurance co. at fault, it was oh u will get that back in the settlement. What settlement . We haven't heard shit ,So I have had a ton of shit to contend with. The injury suffered ,1 in 55,000, The human resources person that supposedley sent papers that Deidre did not sign.When Deidre said she did not receive any such papers to sign, "oh yes I sent them and I have a signed receipt she signed", however the signed receipt "magically disappeared". So I had an issue with the insurance co., the hotel, the person who hit her, and the State of Ms. who issues this goon a driver's license that has narcolepsy r u kidding me! So I did not know if I was going to be in court or what, I have just had the perfect storm since Feb. 28
